Rock Creek’s Helzer Art Gallery shows off ‘Transportraits’

- The Helzer Art Gallery (Room 122, Building 3) at the Rock Creek Campus will host Portland photographer Lorenzo Triburgo’s “Transportraits 2008-2010” exhibit from Feb. 8 to March 13. Triburgo’s newest body of work, “Transportraits 2008-2010,” is a series of 15 formal studio portraits of transgendered men, each one set against a hand painted landscape background.

Lawmakers host town hall at SE Center

- State Sen. Diane Rosenbaum and Rep. Jules Bailey held a town hall meeting at Portland Community College’s Southeast Center on Wednesday, Jan. 20. An estimated 25 people turned out for the event for the lawmakers, whose districts encompass portions of Portland’s central eastside.
