Ellertson wins regional award for leadership, volunteerism

Mandy Ellertson, coordinator of student leadership at the Portland Community College Rock Creek Campus, has been awarded the 2012 Vern Solbach Award for Region 14 of the Association of College Unions  International. Ellertson is the first PCC staff member to receive this award and only the second recipient from Oregon since the award was created in 1999.

The Solbach Award recognizes significant leadership, volunteer service and commitment to the region. With her more than 20 years of exemplary service to students, Ellertson was cited for her work to support campus diversity, for her advocacy for the  Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender community, and for her  commitment to undocumented students throughout the District.
