Rock Creek: Student artwork adorns Building 7 during construction

At Rock Creek Campus, the temporary interior walls on the east side of Building 7 are no longer bare!
Art students at Rock Creek created 131 3′ x 3′ art panels that are now exhibited on both floors of Building 7. The building is currently undergoing a major facelift on its east side. Construction crews have demolished the east entrance and two circular classrooms that previously fronted the building and installed temporary walls to separate and reduce noise, dust and disruption for areas in the building that are still being used by the college and the construction zone on the other side. The future 30,000 square foot addition will showcase a glass exterior envelope designed to capture light and frame a dramatically improved campus quad.
The art students, many of them first year, are taking drawing and painting classes at Rock Creek. The panels will remain in place for a least a year or until the temporary walls are removed. At that time, the work will be moved to other locations at Rock Creek for exhibition.
