PCC Sustainability Council signs revised Climate Action Plan

Photos and Story by

Under a tent shielding the audience from rain and wind on Wednesday, May 22 at the Sylvania Campus courtyard, the PCC Sustainability Council celebrated the signing of the 2013 Climate Action Plan, a second edition of the original plan signed by College President Preston Pulliams in 2009.  Many of the goals are to get the college below greenhouse gas levels measured during a 2006 inventory. So by 2030, PCC is targeting to be 40 percent below 2006 greenhouse gas levels and 80 percent below the levels by 2050. On hand for the ceremony was Randy McEwen (college vice president), Linda Gerber (Sylvania president) and Erin Stanforth, to name a few. McEwen ultimately signed the revised plan to a big applause by the gathered crowd. For the complete plan, visit the PCC Sustainability Webpage or contact Erin Stanforth (sustainability manager) at (971) 722-7635.
