PCC opens stunning Building 7 renovation to community

Photos and Story by

On Monday, March 10, Portland Community College celebrated the opening of its renovated Building 7 at the Rock Creek Campus (17705 N.W. Springville Road). Opsis Architecture and Fortis Construction planned and constructed the new 28,000-square-foot east side of the building. The addition includes new classrooms, study areas and expanded space for the campus’ Multicultural, Student Learning, Women’s Resource and Teaching Learning centers. The new facade that runs the length of the addition features 10-inch wide silicon frit pattern screen-printed windows that have helped earn the structure a Silver LEED rating. This project is part of the college’s 2008 voter-approved $374 million capital construction bond, which has earmarked $63 million to upgrade the Rock Creek Campus.
