The Cascade Campus of Portland Community College has a new president. Karin Edwards took up her new post in July. Edwards comes to Cascade from Three Rivers Community College in Connecticut, where she served as chief student affairs officer. Recently, Edwards sat down for a Q&A session to reveal who she is and what she has planned for PCC’s North Portland campus. What is it about the campus and PCC that inspired you to apply for your new job? Edwards: I was inspired to apply for the position of Cascade Campus president because Portland Community College is the largest institution of higher education in the state of Oregon, serving approximately 90,000 students annually. Career Pathways hosts its annual job fair at Southeast Center
PCC’s Career Pathways is hosting its Fourth Annual Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, in the Great Hall, Mt. Tabor Building, Southeast Center. Portland-area employers that will be on hand will be hiring for jobs in accounting, HVAC, office, pharmacy tech, care giving, CNA, customer service, logistics, transportation, sales and more. There will be a free workshop, “How to Get the Most Out of Job Fairs,” from 9-10 a.m in Room 143, Mt. Tabor. Parking is limited.
