On Saturday, October 18th Portland Community College celebrated the transformation of the former Southeast Center into the full-service Southeast Campus where students can now earn an associate’s degree and have access to the full range of student services.

Funding from the 2008 bond measure made Southeast’s expansion possible, including the construction of the brand new Student Commons building (housing multipurpose classrooms, five science classrooms/labs, a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) center, and expanded bookstore), new Library (featuring traditional library services, classrooms and study areas, Student Computing Center, Student Learning Center, and Volunteer Literacy Center), and the recently completed renovations to Mt. Tabor Hall, creating space for the student services new to the campus, including the Women’s Resource Center, Multicultural Center, Teaching Learning Center, and the ASPCC office.

PCC’S 2008 voter-approved $374 million bond program is increasing opportunities for residents to access quality, affordable higher education close to where they live and work. Additional classrooms, updated equipment and technology, and advanced workforce training programs are helping to pave the way for future employment options.
