“This is truly an honor for the PCC SBDC and the amazing team of leaders who work tirelessly everyday to support small businesses as instructors and advisors,” Marquez-Oldham said. “This award will go down as one of the most meaningful awards I’ve received in my professional career.”

Marquez-Oldham has 30 years of experience working for large, mid and small businesses, and has owned several companies as well. She serves as vice president of NASBITE International, an organization dedicated to professional development and global business credentials. She is also a member of its board of governors’ executive committee. In the past year Marquez-Oldham has grown awareness of the Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) credential resulting in the tripling of CGBPs in the state of Oregon. She and her team opened the first CGBP-accredited training program in 2014. Additionally, she serves on the advisory council for the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs, the Port of Portland Mentor Protégé program, Metro Export Initiative, Small Business Advisory Council and the Clackamas County Economic Development Commission.

Marquez-Oldham holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Warner Pacific College, a master’s degree in Business from George Fox University and a Certified Global Business Professional credential from NASBITE International.

The Small Business Development Center is one of 19 in the state of Oregon, offering growth and development opportunities for small business owners throughout PCC. It is housed at the college’s CLIMB Center, 1626 SE Water Ave.
