Portland Community College’s Rock Creek Campus 40th birthday celebration was officially launched during the campus In-Service on Sept. 20. Even Zippy the Drone made an appearance by capturing faculty and staff on the lawn in front of Building 7 spelling out the birthday year (see photo!). The campus will spend the next 12 months celebrating its history.

“We are still working on the details,” said Rock Creek’s Community Relations Manager Janis Nichols. “But the basic outline is in place. We want to use the birthday year to celebrate our history, the end of the 2008 bond construction, and the introduction of new spaces that benefit our students.”img088

PCC offers this limited open forum as an extension of the respectful, well-reasoned discourse we expect in our classroom discussions. As such, we welcome all viewpoints, but monitor comments to be sure they stick to the topic and contribute to the conversation. We will remove them if they contain or link to abusive material, personal attacks, profanity, off-topic items, or spam. This is the same behavior we require in our hallways and classrooms.
