PCC Bookstores celebrating National Student Day with canned food drive

Photos and Story by | Start the discussion

The PCC Bookstores are hosting a canned food drive this week (Oct. 10-14) in honor of National Student Day on Thursday, Oct. 13. This annual event encourages visitors to the bookstores at each campus (Sylvania, Rock Creek, Cascade and Southeast) to drop off non-perishable or canned food. Each can or good equates to one ticket for entry into a raffle to win a prize. The food will help PCC students in need through each campus’ food canteen. Plus, students can participate in a student selfie contest that could win them $500, or play games organized by each campus on Oct. 13.

To enter the selfie contest visit or find out more information, visit www.nationalstudentday.com.

PCC offers this limited open forum as an extension of the respectful, well-reasoned discourse we expect in our classroom discussions. As such, we welcome all viewpoints, but monitor comments to be sure they stick to the topic and contribute to the conversation. We will remove them if they contain or link to abusive material, personal attacks, profanity, off-topic items, or spam. This is the same behavior we require in our hallways and classrooms. Our online spaces are no different.
