Cascade Campus Hosts Public Safety Awareness Fair

Rescue vehicles and equipment, representatives of "Portland’s finest," PCC’s own shiny red fire engine, and all the people who help Portland-area citizens during a crisis will be at Portland Community College’s Cascade Campus to promote safety awareness.

The Public Safety Awareness Fair is set for Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the mall area of the Student Center Building, 705 N. Killingsworth. The event is free and open to the public.

The campus also features a special workshop on rape awareness, held in Terrell Hall, Room 122 from noon to 1 p.m. The workshop will be presented by Mary Otto of Women’s Strength.

A number of agency representatives will be on hand with emergency vehicles and equipment and will be available to answer questions. They include:

  • Portland Police Bureau’s Neighborhood Response Team,
  • Gang Enforcement Team,
  • Personnel and the Locks program, which provides assistance and repair to those who have been burgled;
  • Oregon State Police;
  • Washington County Sheriff;
  • PCC Fire Protection Tech program;
  • Multnomah County Corrections;
  • American Medical Resource;
  • City of Portland Emergency Response;
  • egon Coalition against Domestic and Sexual Violence;
  • Bradley-Angle House;
  • Trauma Intervention Team.
