PCC Theater Arts Students Shine in Unique Fall Production

The PCC Theater Arts Department at the college’s Sylvania Campus will be using local talent to act and provide technical support during the run of "The Wives of Jason and Arnolphe," on Nov. 12, 13, 17, 18, 19 and 20 at Sylvania’s Performing Arts Center.
The play, which will include 35 PCC actors and 20 technical theater students, is a new work that merges two classics Euripides’ "Medea" and Moliere’s "The School for Wives" into one condensed evening of theater. The work is adapted by Dawn Lisell and guest director Randall Stuart. Stuart is a graduate of the American Conservatory Theatre Advanced Training Program, where he returned as a professor to direct several Shakespearean productions and national showcases. He is also an alumnus of numerous regional repertory theaters, including the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Currently he teaches, writes and directs throughout the country.

Sarah Neely (Chorus) of Hillsboro;
Julie Bucknam (Madelaine) of Tigard;
Alexander Ali (Absyrtus) of Vancouver, Wash.
All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center on the PCC Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Tickets are $5 for students and seniors and $6 for general admission. Tickets go on sale Nov. 1 in the Sylvania Campus Bookstore. Reservations can be made by calling the Performing Arts Center office at 977-4949. Tickets will also be sold at the door on a first-come, first-served basis on the evening of each performance. The show will be interpreted for the hearing-impaired on Thursday, Nov. 18.
