PCC Sale Features the Big and Exotic of the Plant World

Photos and Story by

Get a head-start on that green thumb this summer by cruising on over to Portland Community College’s annual plant sale, running from Wednesday, May 10 to Saturday, May 13 at the greenhouse on the Rock Creek Campus, located at 17705 N.W. Springville Road. The sale, hosted by the Landscape Technology department, has been a part of PCC for almost 20 years, exhibiting typical Northwest plants and exotic species from far away lands every year.

The proceeds from the sale will help fund student scholarships at PCC. It will feature hanging baskets ($10), four-inch containers ($1.50), one-gallon containers ($3.50), and very large and exotic plants ($5 to $15). The event is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 10-12 and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 13. For more information, contact Gail Nehilla in the PCC Science and Technology division at 503-614-7255.
