Natural Medicine Explored in PCC Series

BEAVERTON – Reaching optimum health the natural way is the focus of a three-week non-credit series being offered this fall by Portland Community College. Sessions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays, Nov. 7-28, in room N117 at Westview High School, 4200 N.W. 185th Ave. Tuition for the entire series is $28. Tuition for individual sessions is $11. A $2 fee for materials per session is payable to the instructor, Christine Campbell. The series begins Nov. 7 with Natural Healthcare for Children. Students will discover safe and highly effective natural treatments for commonly occurring childhood ailments, including recurring ear infections, chronic colds and coughs, and food allergies. Natural Treatment for Common Health Ailments will be explored in the second session on Nov. 14. This introductory class will highlight the functions of botanical medicine and the use of herbs for health-related conditions. Herbal formulas and herbs will be available for sampling. The last session in the series, to be held Nov. 28, will cover Homeopathic Medicine. Topics include how to self-prescribe and treat various physical conditions using safe and effective homeopathic remedies. For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-614-7308.
