Motorcycle Inspection Class Stresses Basics

PORTLAND – Motorcycle owners can learn the basics of caring for their machines during a non-credit Saturday workshop being offered this fall by Portland Community College. Three sessions of Motorcycle Inspection and Maintenance – Basic, will be offered on the following Saturdays: Sept. 30, Oct. 14, and Oct. 28. Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in AM208 on PCC’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th. Cost for each session is $25. Designed for riders with less than three years or 3,000 miles of riding experience, this Motorcycle Safety Foundation course will help participants learn more about the motorcycle and its proper care. Participants will bring their motorcycles and learn such tasks as checking and adjusting the chain, checking fluid levels, wheels and control cables, fixing a flat tire, replacing the filter, and adjusting the suspension.
