Road to Professional Excellence Begins at PCC

ALOHA – Do you feel you don’t get noticed at work? Are you at a loss for what the office rules are? Do you want to become a better leader? If you answered "yes" to all of these questions, then Portland Community College has the non-credit lecture series just for you. A.M. Exchange – Ideas in Professional Excellence is designed to help business owners, employees, supervisors and managers build upon, and improve, their skills. Here’s what is offered in this dynamic three-week series.Don’t Keep Yourself a Secret – Learn how to market yourself whether you’re in a company or on your own. Build a style that communicates genuine confidence and projects your best qualities. The class will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 3.Pursuing Success in the "Office Culture" – What exactly is the "office culture"? What motivates people at work? What are the games and the rules that people play in the office? Students will find out the answers to these questions and much more by developing awareness and better understand the interpersonal dynamics in the workplace. This lecture will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24.Is There a Leader in the House – Learn to assess your own leadership qualities and skills as well as evaluate and motivate your own employees as leaders. Students will learn that through positive leadership throughout the company a healthy and productive work environment will follow. This offering will be on Tuesday, Nov. 14.The cost for the entire series is $75, or $28 for an individual class. Each class will run from 7:30-10:30 a.m. in room 1300 at the Washington County Workforce Training Center, located at 185th and Walker Road.
