PCC Class Offers Peek Inside NBA

PORTLAND – A trip to a Portland Trail Blazers basketball game will highlight Hoops 101-Basketball, a four-week non-credit class being offered spring term by Portland Community College.The class will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, April 3-24, in the College Center Pine Room at PCC’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. The cost is $70, which includes two tickets to the April 10 Blazers game against the Golden State Warriors and a Blazers T-shirt. An optional $16.50 text will be available at class. Students must be 16 years of age or older. The instructor is Jerry Moss, director of special events for the Blazers. Moss and guest instructors will use video to take students inside the NBA and share insider knowledge of the game. Moss will cover league rules, jargon and strategies, and lead a behind-the-scenes tour of the Rose Garden. The final class will consist of a recap of the Warriors game and a question-and-answer session.For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 731-6620.
