ROCK CREEK CAMPUS – Show your mother some love and not zero-out your bank account. The annual Portland Community College Plant Sale at the Rock Creek Campus greenhouse, 17705 N.W. Springville Road, is slated for May 9-12. The doors will open at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. each day from Wednesday through Saturday. The sale is an excellent opportunity for people to purchase plants at discount prices, just in time for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 13.This year, there will be various types of hanging basket plants available, including fuchsias, as well as an endless selection of patio bowls. In addition to hundreds of different types of annual and perennial flowers, there will be tomatoes, herbs, vegetables, and more available. Prices will be posted, and proceeds will go to the PCC Foundation for scholarships and to buy instructional materials. The sale, hosted by the Landscape Technology department, has been a part of PCC for almost 20 years, exhibiting typical Northwest plants and exotic species from far away lands.
