?Little Shop of Horrors' to Rock PCC's Performing Arts Center in August

SYLVANIA CAMPUS – Portland Community College will be the site for the first production of Portland’s newest production company. On the Spot Productions presents the popular musical, "Little Shop of Horrors,"about a carnivorous, extraterrestrial plant. The show opens at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2 and will run Aug. 2-4, 9-11 and 16-18 at the Performing Arts Center on the Sylvania Campus, located at 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Also, there will be 2:30 p.m. matinee shows on Sundays, Aug. 5, 12 and 19.The rock-and-roll comedy features David Long and Gwen Lahti as doomed plant lovers and R.C. Cowlishaw as the extra-terrestrial plant. Marina Salizar, who is a nationally acclaimed high school performer, will lead the musical’s doo-wop Greek chorus, and Don Kelley will play Mr. Mushnik.On the Spot Productions was founded in 2000 by Long, Steven Augustine and Sheryl Macy after meeting each other in a musical review in Hillsboro. Macy will serve as the musical director for "Little Shop of Horrors,"production. Tickets can be purchased through any FastTixx location or through the On Spot Productions box office at 503-846-0958. Admission prices are $16.50 and $13.50. Students and seniors can purchase tickets for $12.50.
