Power Learning, Body Energy Explored in PCC Classes

PORTLAND, Ore. – Balancing body energy and power learning will be explored during two non-credit winter term classes at Portland Community College.Balance Your Body’s Energies for Optimum Health will meet from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 7 through March 18, in ST 226 on PCC’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. The class will not meet on Jan. 21 and Feb. 25. Tuition is $60.Instructor Dorothy Lamb will base the curriculum on Donna Eden’s book "Energy Medicine: Balance Your Body’s Energies for Optimum Health, Joy and Vitality."Topics include activities for problem-solving and anger management that participants can do alone or with a partner. A two-session Power Learning Series will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 in HT 223 on the Sylvania Campus. Tuition for both parts is $46. Tuition for individual sections is $28. A workbook fee of $15 for each session is payable to the instructor. The day will be split into individual seminars on the "Kangaroo Method"from 9 a.m. until noon and the "Power Learner Workshop"from 1 to 4 p.m. Participants will learn techniques to quickly comprehend and stay alert while reading, listening and studying. Instructor Don Woodruff will also discuss ways to communicate ideas with confidence and clarity, increase mental focus, strengthen memory and organize learning.
