SYLVANIA CAMPUS – Dancing, drumming, exhibits, fry bread, arts and crafts – all are part of a colorful celebration of Native American culture at PCC on Saturday, Jan. 12. The Third Annual Winter Powwow, "Quilt of Life: Celebrating Family, Community and Continuity"will be held from noon to 11 p.m. in the HT Building gymnasium at the Sylvania Campus, 12000 SW 49th Ave. The first grand entry is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. with a dinner break at 5:30 p.m. The second grand entry is set for 7 p.m. The annual Winter Powwow is free and open to the public.The honored guests include Bob Tom (master of ceremony), Craig Whitehead (whip man) and the Northwest Indian Veterans Association color guard. The PCC Sylvania Winter Powwow planning committee, American Indian Student Association, Multicultural Center, Student Programs and Involvement Network and the Women’s Resource Center are sponsors of this alcohol- and drug-free event.For more information, contact the Sylvania Multicultural Center at 503-977-4112.
