PCC's Alternative High School Program Sets Open House

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Community College’s alternative high school program, PCC Prep, will hold open houses in February to introduce its services to the community. The program will showcase its College-Bound/CAM-Based High School Completion Program. There are currently 258 students enrolled in the program. The first open house is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20 in the Oak Room of the Amo DeBernardis College Center at the Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. On Tuesday, Feb. 26, another open house is set to go from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Room 117 at the Southeast Center, 2850 S.E. 82 Ave. There will be a brief program at 7 p.m. The Multicultural Academic Program, another PCC Prep program, is taking applications for spring term. This program is designed to help students who have limited proficiency in English, are not currently enrolled in high school, and are between the ages of 16 and 20. Classes will be held at the following PCC locations: the Southeast Center, the Portland Metropolitan Workforce Training Center, 5600 N.E. Ave., and the Capital Center, 18624 N.W. Walker Road. PCC will also hold classes at the Miller Education Center in Hillsboro, 759 S.E. Washington, and at Tigard High School, 9000 S.W. Durham Road. The classes include all levels of instruction from basic English through GED preparation and high school completion. (Not all classes will be held in all locations.)
