Photos and Story by

PORTLAND, Ore. – Giselle Bawnik, PCC French instructor, is offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience in France this summer. Bawnik, a Beaverton resident, will lead a French summer language camp in a 13th century medieval village in southwestern France and a tour of the region from June 30 to July 5. Cost for the language camp and tour is $699. Food and lodging is an additional $400. Airfare is not included. Participants will have fun and enhance their French language skills at the same time through pronunciation and communication activities, vocabulary building, comprehension practice, games and cooking. Outside of class, students will travel by minivan to discover the rich treasures of the region such as the prehistoric cave of Pech Merle, the 11th century Ch’teau Bonaguil, and the medieval bridge in the city of Cahors. The camp and tour, sponsored through Bawnik’s Say it In French Language School, will give students one credit through PCC’s English and Modern Languages Department. For further information, contact Giselle Bawnik at 503-977-4620, extension 3446.
