Cascade Campus to Host Sixth Annual Job Fair

CASCADE CAMPUS – Where else can you find more than 50 employers and 100 different kinds of jobs all in one place? You can at Portland Community College. PCC is hosting its Sixth Annual Spring Career Fest Job and Career Information Fair from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at the gymnasium on the Cascade Campus, 705 N. Killingsworth St. The job fair is free and open to the public. Besides the employers, participants can enjoy employment workshops offered in Room 106 of the Cascade Library, located in Student Center. The workshops will focus on topics like: "Resume Success: Building a Resume for the Digital Age,"at noon with Mark Johnson (Tektronix); "Interview Like a Pro,"at 1 p.m. with Kristin Staver, career consultant with Wise Transitions; and "Job Search Strategies for Today’s Tighter Job Market,"at 2 p.m. with Frank Brown and Tina Cruz, with the Regional Workforce Training Team at PCC.Businesses that will be attending include American Medical Response, Fred Meyer – IT Services, Kaiser Permanente, Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon Lottery, Portland Fire and Police Bureaus, Providence Health System, Salem Hospital, Tektronix, Underwriters Laboratories, VA Medical Center and Xerox Corporation.
