PORTLAND, Ore. – The herbs and flowers growing in your own backyard can be the perfect ingredients for beauty treatments. Portland Community College will show students how through a non-credit course offered this summer in Making Natural Skin and Hair Care Products.Instructor Kathryn McKenzie will show students how easy and fun it is to gather local plants and expertly turn them into shampoos, hair gels, hot oil treatments, facials, rinses, creams and more. Students will learn how to bottle their own products, as well as learn a new way to save money.The course will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. every Tuesday between June 25 and Aug. 13 in room HT 319 of PCC Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49thAve. Cost is $48, plus an estimated $30 materials fee payable to the instructor.For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-731-6692.###Overcome Hidden Blocks to Weight LossPORTLAND, Ore. – If losing weight were as simple as counting calories and exercising, we would choose one method and stick with it. Portland Community College will offer an explanation through a non-credit class this summer.What You’re Looking For Isn’t in the Refrigerator is designed to give students insight into their true approach to maintaining a healthy body.
