Harness Power of Natural Medicine in PCC Non-Credit Series

TIGARD, Ore. – Instead of flooding your body with synthetic chemicals, discover nature’s prescription for good health. Portland Community College will offer a non-credit, Natural Medicine Series from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 8 through Feb. 12, in Room A9 at Tigard High School, 9000 S.W. Durham Road. Cost is $14 for each individual lecture, or $66 for the full series. Dr. Suzanne Lawton will present lectures. Topics are as follows:Treating Family Illness (Jan. 8). Learn natural remedies for colds, flu, ear infections, sudden fevers, chicken pox and more. With nutrition, herbs, homeopathy and hydrotherapy, discover when to self-medicate and when to get professional help.Eat to Your Health (Jan. 15). Full of strategies and recipes, this lecture focuses on how to make a gradual transition from the standard American diet to a more healthful one. Get children involved, and learn how to make wise choices when eating out.Allergies: A Natural Approach (Jan. 22). Understand the diversity of allergic symptoms and how to treat airborne, environmental and dietary allergies using natural methods.Raising Healthy Children (Jan. 29). Discover effective ways to start, improve and maintain your child’s physical and emotional health. Discussion covers vaccinations, eating healthy and how to stay at home versus returning to work.Women’s Health (Feb. 5). View women’s health as a natural cycle and learn to minimize the discomfort of PMS, menses and menopause. Also touches on fibroids, osteoporosis, heart disease, libido, hormone replacement therapy, emotional issues and natural alternatives.Auto Immune (Feb. 12). Explore the relationship between auto immune and chronic diseases including fibromyalgia, systemic Lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome and state of mind.
