PORTLAND, Ore. – Perhaps the best way to understand our foreign neighbors around the world is to begin by speaking the same language. Delve into the beautiful and ancient language of Arabic this winter with a Portland Community College non-credit class. Arabic Conversation: Beginning Term I, with native speaker and instructor Yusria A. Karam, offers the foundation of the language within a supportive, interactive environment. Upon completion, students can then move on to the second level of Arabic instruction, also offered through PCC. The class will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 6 through March 17, in Room 132 of Building 1 at PCC’s Portland Metro Workforce Training Center, 5600 N.E. 42nd Ave. PCC tuition is $80; with a $2 fee is payable to the instructor in class.
