PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Community College welcomes Jackie Babicky to the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Babicky, a resident of northeast Portland, is the SBDC’s new full-time small business management instructor. Babicky comes to PCC with a wealth of experience from owning small businesses. After becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) she established her first business, the CPA firm Babicky, Bunce and Parker, in 1976. Since then she has founded other small businesses that have focused on providing consulting services to a wide array of business and government organizations. She is eager to work on helping PCC’s small business management students and their businesses."I have both a passion and a strong background working with small business and this job is absolutely perfect for me,"Babicky said. "It involves both teaching and counseling lots of small businesses. It is wonderful to be involved in a program that is focused on helping small businesses be successful. Our combination of class work and one on one long term individual counseling really makes the difference."In addition to her extensive experience, Babicky has been an active participant in civic organizations.
