PCC Visits the Kit Kat Klub in ?Cabaret' Production

SYLVANIA CAMPUS – Kander and Ebb’s "Cabaret"comes to Portland Community College in March.The PCC Theater Arts department presents the famous musical at 7:30 p.m., March 7-9 and 13-15 in the Performing Arts Center on the Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. The show on Sunday, March 9 will be at 2 p.m. and on Thursday, March 13 the play will be interpreted for the hearing impaired."Cabaret"features an emcee who leads the audience through a wild and decadent journey into Berlin’s Kit Kat Club in 1929. The play follows the character of Cliff Bradshaw as he meets Sally Bowles and girls of the Kit Kat Klub. This musical exploration of the coming of the Third Reich includes familiar songs like "Cabaret"and "Don’t Tell Mama."This production contains mature subject matter and may be unsuitable for younger audience members.Sue Parks-Hilden, theater arts instructor, is the director; theater coordinator Dan Hays is the technical director; physical education instructor Diana LoVerso is the choreographer; David Spence is the music director; and Margaret Chapman is the costume designer. The student cast includes Michael Ashton of Portland as the emcee, Erin Charles of Lake Oswego as Sally Bowles, Nathan Williams of Beaverton as Clifford Bradshaw, Jesse Decker of Portland as Herr Schultz, Allison May of Portland as Fraulein Schneider, Jesse Goldtrap of Lincoln City as Ernst Ludwig and Susannah Scott of Tigard as Fraulein Kost. The Kit Kat Klub includes Kim Gingrich of Tualatin, Beaverton residents Sara Manson and Chase Fulton, Galin McMahon of Gresham, Jared McClain of Wilsonville, and Portland residents Aime Kelly, Melisa King, Erica Holstine, Fiona McLaughlin, Chris Welch and Jonathan Hall.Tickets are $8 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors.
