Expert gardener Rod Smith teaches popular PCC class

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Horticulturist Rod Smith loves to teach. His passion for gardening inspires packed classes of aspiring green thumbs every term at Portland Community College. This fall, catch the gardening inspiration yourself in his non-credit class, slated to begin in September.Home Gardening Series with Rod Smith will cover all aspects of planning your landscape with knowledge gained from this series of well-rounded topics. Students will understand how to know which plants grow best in their yards, actually experience a green lawn, add vivid color to gardens and bring "curb appeal"to their homes.The class will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 23 through Nov. 25, in Room 1508 of PCC’s Washington County Workforce Training Center, 18624 N.W. Walker Road.
