PCC ?Singles in the City' dinner and lectures

PORTLAND, Ore. – How do you make that first impression? How can you tell whether the person you just met has potential for a future relationship? This fall, Portland Community College can help break the ice with an upcoming non-credit class series featuring dinner and a speaker.Singles in the City introduces local singles to one another while offering specific strategies on how to grab a person’s attention, keep the conversation going and recognize a compatible partner. Students will meet at a series of three dinners held at the Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant, 0715 S.W. Bancroft Ave., from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30; Monday, Oct. 27; and Wednesday, Nov. 19. Cost is $35 per class. Speaker Wendy Gilson will offer the following topics: Are We Compatible? (Sept. 30). Learn more about yourself and your compatible types using the "DISC"model. Fun exercises will help you learn if you are a "director,""stabilizer,"or other personality type. Making a Great First Impression (Oct. 27). A variety of powerful strategies – from small talk, to etiquette, to great clothing choices – will ensure that your likeable, most-impressive best will shine through. Business and Social Networking (Nov. 19). Learn to make the most of any networking event whether business or social.
