PORTLAND, Ore. – Want to be your own boss, but don’t know where to start? Portland Community College will present an opportunity to explore 25 profitable businesses you can launch and run from home with an upcoming non-credit class.25 Hot Home-Based Businesses to Start for Under $1,000 is designed for people interested in exploring alternatives to the 9-to-5 grind without giving up the comfort and security of a full-time job. During this two-and-a-half hour seminar, instructor Steve Veltkamp will reveal which specific businesses are making people the most money with the least amount of investment. Students will map out start-up requirements, explore market niches, and develop their own action plan."Steve has helped hundreds of people start their own businesses,"said Gary Palmer, PCC Community Education manager. "Students walk into class with an idea, and walk out with the tools they need to turn their idea into a money-making reality."The workshop will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, in Room 223 of the Health Technology Building at PCC’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. The cost is $34 with a manual available for $35.For more information, contact PCC Community Education at 503-731-6642.
