PCC offers professional mediation training

PORTLAND, Ore. – Learn what it takes to negotiate, resolve conflict and move others to a win-win solution: Portland Community College’s mediation training program can give you the skills. Whether in a corporation or in a family, mediation skills are in hot demand. PCC’s Mediation Training is an intense five-day program designed to help you position yourself as a conflict manager in any situation. Instructor and professional mediator Tsipora Dimant will show you how to balance power, reframe difficult situations and handle unexpected events. "Name-calling, embarrassing details, threats, tears, accusations, anger  a trained mediator can guide people out of even the deepest feelings of hostility and into a workable solution," said Dimant. "This program provides you with a highly marketable skill." The training will be held over five sessions as follows:" 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21." 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22." 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23." 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29. " 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30. All sessions will be held at The Friendly House, 1737 N.W. 26 Ave. The training is non-credit, but provides a certificate upon completion. Cost is $450.
