Public safety fair at Rock Creek Campus

ROCK CREEK CAMPUS – Portland Community College and local law enforcement agencies are hosting the first annual Portland Metro "Celebrating Safe Neighbors and Safer Communities" Fair from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Rock Creek Campus, 17705 N.W. Springville Road. It is free and open to the public.The fair features interactive exhibits and information about important resources within the local community. The fair will include a rock climbing wall; Marine Corps obstacle course; replica of the old Washington County Jail; and tours of the new building and addition at Rock Creek Campus.Members of the Veterinary Technology Program will be on hand to provide classes on pet safety and first aid. Representatives from the college’s occupational programs like criminal justice, nursing, and fire science will be available to answer questions and provide materials. PCC’s Public Safety department is hosting the fair. There will be representatives on hand from the Washington County sheriff’s office, Metro West Ambulance, Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue, the United States Armed Forces, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Bonnie Hayes Animal Shelter, and a Dove Lewis Animal Hospital.For more information, contact Michael Pace, PCC public safety officer, at 503-977-4902.
