Writers get grammar tune-up with PCC online class

Photos and Story by

PORTLAND, Ore. – It may have been a long time since you deconstructed a sentence on the blackboard, but Portland Community College can bring it all back. A new online course in grammar will revive how to write correctly and punch up the strength of your documents. Through the use of definitions, examples, and many reinforcing exercises, Grammar Refresher will cover all the basics. The non-credit class offers vivid, interactive lessons to give you ample opportunity to put everything you learn into practice. The result is a clearer, stronger ability to communicate through your writing. "Thanks for a great course – it was just what I needed to gain more confidence in my writing," read one recent student evaluation. "I liked the style of the lessons and the examples." Held entirely online via the Internet, the six-week class offers the flexibility to open lessons whenever your schedule allows and features discussion boards with the instructor and other students. The class will be offered four times this fall: choose from Sept. 15 through Oct. 22, Oct. 20 through Nov. 26, Nov. 10 through Dec. 17, or Dec. 8 through Jan. 14. Cost is $79.
