TLC Experience a Class a success

Wow! I just got back from a TLC Experience My Class session in Caralee Angel-Babbitt’s German 101 course. What a phenomenal teacher! This is a 1st Year German course and everything was taught in German. Her energetic and engaging style enlivened the room. I immediately felt drawn into the lesson, without any German background. She created a space where everyone seemed to feel comfortable participating, with many hands-on activities that allowed students to apply what they were learning. During an exercise where students asked each other questions about participating in different activities (which was great for practice and getting to know each other), a student shared with me that he really enjoyed Caralee as a teacher and that he was learning a lot in the class. Nice to hear. With only a couple of weeks left in the term, I highly encourage everyone to try to attend a course from the Experience My Class list (for more information, visit Class List). It is such a wonderful way to observe different teaching techniques and to expand our minds on a variety of topics. Not only did Caralee inspire me to use more interactive exercises in my own classes, but I also learned some German! Danka, Caralee!!!
