Online class teaches grant writing for boards, organizers

PORTLAND, Ore. – Money is available for your organization the trick is learning to tap into foundation, government and other entity funds with a well-written grant proposal. Learn how to secure the funds needed for your next project by signing up for an online, non-credit class offered by Portland Community College.A to Z Grant Writing is an invigorating class especially created for executive directors, organizers, board members, community volunteers, development officers and individuals who want to learn a bird’s eye view of the grant writing process. Instructor Linda Vallejo will teach how to research and develop mutually beneficial relationships with potential funding sources, organize a grant writing campaign and keep track of all funding sources, requests and donations. By the end of the class, students will have the know-how to submit one hundred proposals a year in just ten hours a week.Held entirely online via the Internet, the six-week class offers the flexibility to open lessons whenever your schedule allows and features discussion boards with the instructor and other students. The class will be offered three times this winter: choose from Jan. 19 through Feb. 25, Feb. 16 through March 25, or March 16 through April 22. Cost is $79.
