SYLVANIA CAMPUS – In association with the V-Day 2005 College Campaign, PCC will present a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s "The Vagina Monologues" at the Performing Arts Center at the Sylvania Campus (12000 S.W. 49th Ave.). The show times are 7 p.m. on Feb. 11 and 12, and 2 p.m. on Feb. 13.This is the fifth year PCC has hosted the event. "The Vagina Monologues" was created to help build awareness and help combat domestic abuse against women. In 1998, Ensler and a collection of women from different backgrounds performed "The Vagina Monologues" off-Broadway, diving into the mystery, humor, pain, power, wisdom, outrage and excitement of their experiences.Sponsored by the Sylvania Women’s Resource Center, proceeds will benefit V-Day spotlight 2005: "Women of Iraq, Under Siege," and The PCC Illumination Project, an interactive social-justice theater program.Last year, more than 1,100 communities hosted V-Day benefits around the world raising funds and awareness towards ending violence against women. These events raised more than $4 million. Tickets for the PCC production are $12 for students and seniors, and $15 for general admission. For more information or to buy a ticket, call 503-977-8101.
