BEAVERTON, Ore. – Explore Islamic beliefs from a scriptural point of view. A new Portland Community College non-credit class will tap the ancient mysteries of the Quran (Koran). Unveil The World of The Qur’an (Koran) will discuss the Qur’an as the primary source of law in Islam, regulating every aspect of individual and social behavior. Instructor Mamadou Toure will show you just how that translates into everyday life from an Islamic perspective. Students will emerge with a more understanding viewpoint of the mystery and beauty of the Quran, as well as the Islamic world as a whole. The six-week class will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, April 4 through May 9, in Room 136 at the PCC Rock Creek Campus, 17705 N.W. Springville Road. Cost is $45.
