Nature inspires art in illustration class

Photos and Story by

PORTLAND, Ore. – See the world with the eye of an artist anyone can; all it takes is inspiration and a little guidance. Instructor Amy Konsterlie and Portland Community College will get you started with a non-credit class in nature illustration, beginning this spring. Nature Illustration with Various Pencils and Watercolor will help you capture seasonal details as you learn art techniques. Observe nature or use photos, supplied by you or the instructor, to choose an inspirational subject. The class includes demonstrations and personal feedback on each project. The eight-week class will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, March 31 through May 19, in Room 239 of Grant High School, 2245 N.E. 36th. Cost is $99.
