PCC lecture event spotlights women of the Middle Ages

CASCADE CAMPUS — Portland Community College is hosting a guest speaker who will explore women icons of the European Middle Ages and their roles in society. Barbara Altmann, who is from the Center for the Study of Women in Society at the University of Oregon, will present "Poster Girls of the Middle Ages," from noon to 1 p.m. on April 4 in Terrell Hall 122 on the Cascade Campus (705 N. Killingsworth Street). Altmann will talk about each historical figure and how they gained both fame and notoriety. She is an associate professor of romance languages at Oregon and serves as acting director for the Oregon Humanities Center. This event is sponsored by PCC-Cascade Women’s Resource Center.
