Photos and Story by

ROCK CREEK CAMPUS – It’s almost Mother’s Day and Portland Community College has the perfect gift. The annual PCC Plant Sale provides an excellent opportunity to purchase plants at affordable prices for Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 8. The annual PCC Plant Sale is held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, May 4-7 at the Rock Creek Campus greenhouse, 17705 N.W. Springville Road. On Saturday, May 7, plants will be two for the price of one. This year, there will be at least 200 types of annuals, perennials, shrubs, vines and trees from which to choose. Also, there will be about a dozen different types of tomatoes, including super cherries and German heirloom. Finally, there will be the ever-popular fuchsia, hanging bags, mixed flower- baskets and patio bowls for decks and hangers. Prices will be posted and proceeds will go to the PCC Foundation for Landscape Technology scholarships and to buy instructional materials. The sale, hosted by the Landscape Technology department, has been a part of PCC for almost 20 years, exhibiting typical Northwest plants and exotic species from all over the world. For more information, call 503-614-7014.
