PCC hosts job and career fair at Cascade Campus

CASCADE CAMPUS – Portland Community College Cascade Campus is hosting the Eighth Annual Job and Career Information Fair to help connect employers with job-seekers. The job fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3 at the Physical Education Building gymnasium at the Cascade Campus, 705 N. Killingsworth Street. More than 60 employers, representing hundreds of jobs, will be in attendance. Last year, more than 2,100 job-seekers attended the fair, which includes employment workshops on resume skills, interviewing, applying for jobs online and how to make successful career change. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is also free. "This is an excellent opportunity for the community to meet with potential employers and to connect with the Cascade Campus," said Algie Gatewood, president of the Cascade Campus. "We want to be a resource for the community." The participating companies include American Red Cross, Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency, FBI, FedEx Ground, Fred Meyer, HSBC Card Services, Knowledge Learning Corporation, Legacy Health System, Lifeworks, Metro, Milgard Manufacturing, Mt. Hood Beverage, Multnomah County, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Oregon Tradeswomen, Portland General Electric, Providence, SYSCO Food Services of Portland, Walgreens, Kanto Corporation, Miller Paint, Climax Portable Machine Tool, Portland Fire & Rescue and The Standard.
