PCC's Theater Arts program raises curtain on 2005-06 season schedule

SYLVANIA CAMPUS – Snappy musicals, poignant dramas, outrageous comedies and fresh new material seen nowhere else.PCC’s Theater Arts program has announced its line-up of productions for the 2005-06 season and it promises not to disappoint. It all begins with the fall production of Beth Henley’s drama "Crimes of the Heart," directed by PCC instructor John Duncan. The production is set for Nov. 10, 12-13 and 17-19. The family drama is filled with pathos and Southern Gothic humor. It is the winner of the 1981 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.The winter play is "Urinetown: The Musical," and PCC is the first company in the Northwest to be granted performance rights to the production. "Urinetown" will be staged from March 9-11 and 16-19. It delves into the world of ecological disaster, corporate greed and a revolution by the masses who just want to pee. The main character, Bobby Strong, inadvertently falls in love with the daughter of the corporate CEO who regulates the toilets. This leads to chaos and the desire to be free.The spring production will be Millers acclaimed "The Man Who Had All the Luck" and is set to delight from May 11-14 and 18-21, and June 1-4. This 1944 play centers on the life of David Breeves, a man who can seemingly do no wrong. He begins to doubt his good fortune and struggles with the misfortune of others and his good fate. This PCC production will tour the college’s three main campuses: Sylvania (12000 S.W. 49th Ave.), Rock Creek (17705 N.W. Springville Rd) and Cascade (705 N. Killingsworth St.).In the spring, the Sylvania Campus will be the site for the annual Student One-Act Play Festival.
