PCC-Pay helps students take care of bills quickly and cheaply

Photos and Story by

PORTLAND, Ore. – Students now have a safer, cheaper and faster way to pay their bills at Portland Community College.PCC-Pay is the college’s new eCommerce site that allows students to view and pay bills electronically. Features of the new service include the ability for students to authorize others to view and pay bills online, to pay by eCheck (checking or savings) or a bank card, to see current account charges or billing history, and to get immediate email notification of all online activity, all available 24/7. "We are excited about this latest addition to PCC’s menu of online services," said Dee Wilson, PCC’s bursar. "Producing paper bills is expensive, labor intensive and a waste of natural resources.PCC-Pay offers better service at a lower cost so everyone wins."Security should not be a concern, says Wilson. To protect confidential account information, PCC-Pay meets the highest level of payment card industry standards enacted by Congress, including advanced intrusion detection and firewall systems.PCC students who register online will receive eBills automatically. However, those who do not will be able to choose between paper or electronic bills. Regardless of how they register, all students can access the new online payment options. Those who prefer face-to-face interaction can still pay in person at any of the college’s four campus business offices. To register, visit www.pcc.edu, or call 503-977-4933.
