Forums at PCC are green smart

Photos and Story by

PORTLAND, Ore. – Most people come to Portland Community College to get book smart. Now, they have a chance to get "green smart" too! PCC has partnered with local organizations to host Green Home Forum, a monthly event where the public and green building professionals exchange ideas, needs and services on the how-tos of green building. It’s free, informative and fun. Attendees will learn about environmentally healthy and safe options for their home, exchange ideas and get free consultations from professionals, and get the resources to make "green-smart" ideas in their home a reality. All forums are 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings at PCC Central Workforce Training Center next to OMSI, 1626 SE Water Ave. The center is accessible by bike, bus and car. Green Home Forum schedule/topics for fall 2005: Sept. 22 Planning your Green Remodel. Oct. 13 Energy Saving Technologies for Your Home. Nov. 10 Green Kitchen and Bath Design. Dec. 8 The Latest on Rainwater Harvesting. The Green Home Forum partners are Portland Community College, Portland Office of Sustainable Development’s G-Rated Program, Northwest EcoBuilding Guild, Imagine Energy, Living Spaces and Roots Realty.
