Lose your accent with PCC English class

PORTLAND, Ore. – Do others have difficulty understanding you when you speak English because of your accent? A new Portland Community College non-credit class can help! In Speak Without an Accent, you will learn basic strategies to improve the "melody" or intonation of your English. Instructor Darren Packard, a specialist in accent reduction, will lead you through simple exercises that will immediately allow clearer, more fulfilling communication between you and co-workers, friends and family. This one-day class will be offered twice this term as follows: from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, in Room 301 at the PCC Central Portland Workforce Training Center, 1626 S.E. Water Ave. Cost is $19; and from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Room 142 of Tabor Hall at the PCC Southeast Center, 2305 S.E. 82nd Ave. Cost is $19.
