Online class harnesses power of Windows XP

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Community College is helping students explore the full capabilities of Windows XP from their home computer. This fall, join PCC for a non-credit class held entirely online. Instructor Alan Simpson will teach Windows XP: Level I. Work with text, photos, sound, DVD, Interactive TV, video and participate in lessons over the Internet. Students will learn how to create shortcuts, customize the interface, take advantage of the Internet build a local area network and more. Discover how XP supports MS.NET strategy and XML, helping students take their computer skills to the next level. Held entirely online via the Internet, the six-week class offers the flexibility to open lessons whenever the students’ schedule allows and features discussion boards with the instructor and other students. The class will be offered Oct. 19 through Nov. 25, Nov. 9 through Dec. 16, or Dec. 14 through Jan. 20. Cost is $69. To register, email ddavis@pcc.edu, or visit www.ourcoursescometoyou.com.
