PCC christens new building at Cascade Campus

PORTLAND, Ore. – The final piece to the Cascade Campus’ 2000 construction bond puzzle is now complete – the Daniel F. Moriarty Arts and Humanities Building. The facility is named after former PCC President Dan Moriarty, who retired from the college in 2001 after 15 years at the helm of the state’s largest institution of higher education. WHAT: The grand opening celebration of the Daniel F. Moriarty Arts and Humanities Building and Terrell Hall addition and remodel. The event will also highlight Cascade Campus’ 35 years of service to the community. The ceremony will feature a gift presentation to Moriarty, dedication proclamation and ribbon-cutting. There will also be self-guided tours of the new facilities, refreshments and live music by the Gene Smith Trio.WHEN: 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12.WHERE: The Daniel F. Moriarty Arts and Humanities Building, 705 N. Killingsworth Street.WHO: Guests include President Emeritus Daniel Moriarty, former PCC District President Jerry Berger, State Sen. Margaret Carter, Portland City Councilor Dan Saltzman, Grant High School’s Royal Blues A cappella Choir, PCC District President Preston Pulliams, Cascade Campus President Algie Gatewood and Cascade Student Body President Leah Gibson.
