Masha Hamilton – Author, Journalist & Foreign CorrespondentWill be at Rock Creek on Wed. October 12thThere will be two sessions in Building 9 Room 122aSession 1 – 12:00 – 12:50 – Covering Violence: The Angst & the Adrenaline – focuses on how covering violence can be addictive for reporters, but also takes its toll. Masha will also discuss the current situation in Iraq and US media coverage of events there.Session 2 – 1:00 – 1:50 – Women & Conflict – Masha will talk about women in Afghanistan who she has interviewed – women in prison, war widows raising children alone, child brides as well as the role of women journalists in that country.Masha was a Foreign Correspondent for the Associated Press for 5 years. She has lived and worked in the Middle East, Russia, and Afghanistan.
